• Canada is home to the longest street in the world –this may sound funny, but Canada is actually home to one of the longest streets in the world. The street is called “Yonge” and it can be found in Ontario. The street starts from lake Ontario, and runs through the northern parts of Ontario just before the Minnesota border. It has a distance of almost 2,000 km. if you are visiting Canada for the first time, you should definitely go down to see this road, though it may not be much, but it can be a very exciting experience. 

• Canada is the birthplace of the blackberry smart phone –if you have owned a black berry at some point in your life, then you probably didn’t know that Canada is the birthplace of the previous popular blackberry. Though the blackberry is not used too much in this day and age, it was still a pretty popular phone back in 2007. It was developed in Ontario, at the research in motion’s office. 

• Canada is home to a number creepy crawlies – this may make you cringe, but did you know that Canada was home to over 55,000 different species of insects? If you are not really a big fan of insects and you despise the word itself, this can be a very funny piece of information to know about. If you are going to visit Canada for the first time, it would probably be better that you steer clear of any grassy areas.

• Canada has been invaded twice – did you know that Canada was invaded twice by the USA? If you haven’t already known this, the Canadian government was invaded by the USA twice at the year 1775 and 1812. If you noticed, that there is an easy access to get to the states from Canada, you just have to go through the Niagara Falls. So, if you want to get to the states from Canada, its as easy as taking a quick drive to the Niagara falls and crossing the border. 

Canada holds record for the most gold medals won at the Olympics – if you are a huge fan of Canada, then you will be glad to know that Canada actually holds the record for the most gold medals every won during the winter Olympics. They have won a total of 14 god medals.
